About Us

The Bar Harbor Whale Museum is a collaboration of College of the Atlantic and the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company. Established in 1991, our Museum has hosted literally hundreds of thousands of people and has displayed numerous exhibits about the Gulf of Maine and its life within. While our exhibits are centered on the understanding of marine mammals, they extend into all areas of the marine world.

To ensure everyone has the opportunity to enjoy our displays and learn about the Gulf of Maine we charge no admission fee but gladly accept donations. We are a non-profit organization that exists strictly as a benefit and a learning platform for students, educators, and the greater public.
